“Discover A Treatment For Hemorrhoids That Works”

Need a safe hemorrhoids remedy for permanent relief to this problem?  Have you tried over-the-counter treatments and nothing seemed to work?  You just need a safe hemorrhoid remedy that works fast, and relieves the pain, itching and swelling.  Hemorrhoids can cause great pain, discomfort and difficulties to the sufferers. Plus the burning and uncomfortable feeling while sitting can make you feel embarrassed and put stress into your life.

This article will help you understand hemorrhoids and how to prevent them from flaring up.

What Exactly Are Hemorrhoids?

Hemorrhoids, also called piles, are veins that are swollen and inflamed in your lower rectum and anus. These dilated veins can swell from either inside (internal) or outside (external) the anal canal.

Hemorrhoids are a very common problem. Over 75% of the people in the United States have hemorrhoid flair ups at some time in their lives.

What Are The Symptoms?

Finding a truly effective hemorrhoids remedy to this embarrassing problem can be a challenge, however. If you’re like most people, the worst symptoms you’re likely dealing with are the pain and the itchy discomfort in your anal region. The good news is that that a natural hemorrhoid remedy can actually cure these symptoms and more importantly, keep them from coming back!

The following is a list of the most common symptoms of both external and internal hemorrhoids:

What Causes Hemorrhoids?

Understanding the causes of hemorrhoids is one of the best first steps you can take toward finding relief. Hemorrhoids are generally caused by an abnormal increase in pressure on the veins located in the rectal and pelvic area. The hemorrhoids develop as pressure increases, since blood then begins to pool or collect in the veins, causing the veins to swell.

The following is a list of reasons why hemorrhoids can develop:

10 Tips For Hemorrhoids Relief

1.  For a soothing treatment for hemorrhoids, I generally suggest using an alcohol free medicated wet wipe or baby wipe instead of rough toilet paper. Toilet paper can aggravate the itching by causing dryness.

2.  Aloe vera gel applied directly on the anus as another remedy that can be very soothing. I was surprised to learn that aloe actually has traits similar to aspirin, so the anti-inflammatory properties even help as well. However, topical treatments only bring short term relief, since they will wipe off quickly.

3.  Keep the anal region clean. Using mild soap and warm water, dab the area gently each time you use the rest room. Doing so will help you reduce swelling as well as increase blood supply. Be careful to avoid vigorous rubbing of the anal area, or you’ll only make the problem worse.

4.  If constipation is what’s causing hemorrhoids to flare up, my first suggestion is to use a stool softener as a hemorrhoids remedy. Do not choose a laxative or any other type of over-the-counter medication, however, as they can cause diarrhea and worsen the hemorrhoids further. For relief of constipation, see my article "Constipation Natural Remedies".

5.  Eat plenty of foods that are high in fiber. Whole-grain cereals, whole-grain breads, raw and dried fruits, raw vegetables and beans are all great choices. You’ll also want to limit or moderate foods like soft drinks, ice cream, white bread, cheese and red meat. If you find it difficult to get enough fiber, you can use bulking agents like Metamucil, Citrucel, and Fibercon to increase your fiber intake easily.

6.  Avoid trigger foods.  If there are certain foods or beverages that tend to cause hemorrhoids to pop up or make them worse, the solution is simple - avoid them! Common trigger foods include spicy foods, nuts, coffee and alcoholic beverages.

7.  Cold compresses are also effective on hemorrhoids. Apply ice packs or other cold compresses to soothe pain and find hemorrhoids relief.

8.  Use a sitz bath as a treatment for hemorrhoids. Soaking in warm water several times per day can be a hemorrhoid remedy that helps relieve the symptoms of hemorrhoids.

9.  Avoid eating too much sodium. Salt causes dehydration by forcing your body to reabsorb the moisture in your stool, which makes it harder and more strenuous to eliminate. Excessive salt intake can also cause fluid retention in the circulatory system, which makes the rectal veins bulge even more.

10.  See a doctor if your hemorrhoid symptoms began with a change in your bowel habits or if you’re passing tarry or black stools. Also, blood clots or blood that is mixed in with your stools need to be checked out. If you experience large amounts of rectal bleeding, or find yourself with dizziness or faintness, you’ll need to seek emergency care right away.

These self-care tips can help you find relief from the symptoms, but they don’t make hemorrhoids disappear completely. Both internal hemorrhoids and external hemorrhoids can bleed - depending on the severity, you might be able to find a natural treatments to treat these.
