Exercise levels are also important in the control and prevention of cellulite and regular exercise can aid in any cellulite prevention program.

How Abdominal Weight Gain Can Explain What Causes Cellulite

When weight is gained around the abdomen it causes more estrogen to be retained in the body. When weight is lost, estrogen levels decline and in this way we are able to combat cellulite in two ways, namely by reducing fat levels in the body and aiding in the prevention of cellulite by achieving better hormonal balance. When the hormones are balanced less weight gain occurs in a cyclical pattern.

When a diet which is low in fats and carbohydrates is consumed the insulin levels in the body are better controlled. This means that cellulite forming lipids are reduced. Fat and protein reserves will instead be used for energy production and this in turn results in weight loss. To protect protein reserves it is a good idea to take a high protein isolate supplement while changing dietary practices in the short term.

Once the amount and appearance of cellulite has been improved you should continue to limit fats and carbohydrates and begin to include carbohydrates with a low glycemic index such as brown bread and pasta and whole fruits and vegetables. This will help control insulin levels in the body and prevent further formation of cellulite.
